RDG'S STORY
Surviving an unspeakable act in my first year of life, then learning about it from a relative on her deathbed when I was an adult was quite a thing to go through. I lived two completely different lives as a result. Both lives have driven my creativity and purpose. I lived a life of lies and hidden truths, but it has also been a life of music and miracles. THE BIO
Ronny Dean Garrett grew up in Texas and New Mexico, usually out in the country. His family lived on farms and ranches as day workers and moved often. His dad played guitar and sang, his mother sang harmony and his two older brothers played guitar. Ronny was delegated to drums but quickly found his own voice. Growing up in a musical family fueled Ronny’s inspiration from an early age. He spent hours listening to his grandparent's records - Jimmy Rogers and Southern Gospel, most notably, The Chuckwagon Gang. It was during this time that he knew he wanted to be a singer. From performing acapella at the Church of Christ, playing with his brothers in a trio, and wanting to sing like Creedence Clearwater Revival, he was hooked! Ronny spent over a decade pursuing music in Nashville and now resides in the panhandle of Florida. He will be touring his new EP with Nashville based label, CGS Records, this fall in his home state of Texas.
ABOUT THE EP
This project is all about going home - going home to my songwriting, to recording with my friends in Nashville, and to being the artist I was born to be. It’s also about going home to play this music in the legendary towns of the great state of Texas!
